Australian Chasing DVDs

"Supercell Journey" 2004/05 - set of 4 DVDs - We apologise for the delay but after a long wait, "Supercell Journey - Violent Storms on the Plains" has finally been released! All four volumes - Parts 1 to 4! Yes, that's 4 DVDs in one set - more than any other set ever produced. Why?

The 2004 - 2005 season produced some of the most impressive severe storms of all time. And not only severe storms - we are talking massive supercells - rotating beasts roaring across the Australian landscape. Is it the massive hailstones - 8cm or greater that gets the adrenalin rush? Three such devastating events including two windscreen smashing hailstorms are depicted on these DVDs. Yes finally the storms revenge - a rude awakening to reality for those who dared to venture through the core! Or perhaps it is the awesome beauty of the sculptured LP supercell gracefully rotating west of Sydney? Add in a classic supercell complete with rippled vault in Sydney's suburbs? Ahh - how about you lightning fanatics? Try half an hour of fully edited pulsing lightning activity beginning with sunset - the most spectacular Australian lightning display I have ever observed! These DVDs have stretched the imagination to new limits. As a bonus, we have added 15 minutes of absolutely stunning highlights including never seen before footage! And best of all, these DVDs are educational. As we have done previously, the DVDs are annotated to allow each individual to understand the storm chasing jargon as well as illustrate what meteorological features are being depicted. From wall clouds to vaults to shelf clouds! And for those who enjoy timelapse, there is nothing better than to see the motions associated with these supercells timelapsed.

Purchase either or all of the 4 DVDs. Although, we normally encourage purchasing the full set, the special edition DVD set are edited as such to contain their own storm stories on each DVD. So why not take part in your "Supercell Journey".

"The Early Years" 1996 to 2001 - set of 3 DVDs - Yes those were the days - storm chasing in its infancy - the storm chasing pioneers. New methods evolve - the exploration begins! Even by today's standards, some of the storms selected here sends a shiver up the spine and makes the adrenaline rush. Too many storms to list here but lets start with the infamous "beaver tail" Coffs Harbour supercell, the Horsley Park 1996 LP supercell and giant hail, and the tornadic supercell edging out Gunnedah in 1999 - the first truly successful long distance chase.

Northeast NSW 2005/06 - set of 2 DVDs - The footage is mainly NSW Northern Rivers based but also includes chases to the Northern Tablelands, Central and North West Slopes and Plains and SE Queensland. As well as the chasing listed below there is also an intro containing a mix of spectacular video and photos set to music, and a timelapse highlights package.

"Lightning Struck" 2003/04 - set of 2 DVDs - featuring giant hail footage, awesome structure and spectacular lightning on the wild Australian countryside.

"Under The Weather" Spring 2001 to Autumn 2003 - set of 3 DVDs - this includes the mothership monster, giant hail from 2001, spectacular lightning daytime and night. Some of the favourite chase stories featured on video are the Camden LP Supercell, Spectacular Mothership and Giant hailstones

Spring 2003 - experience spectacular severe storms over the great Australian countryside including the great Hay plains over southwestern NSW. Unique storm structures, strobing daytime and night lightning.

Northeast NSW 2004/05 - set of 2 DVDs - Spectacular footage highlighting the severe thunderstorm season in the Northern Rivers region. There are also chases into the Central West and North West regions of NSW. Windscreen smashing giant hail and a number of supercells are covered.

Northeast NSW 2003/04 - set of 2 DVDs - showcasing the Northern Rivers action for the 2003/04 storm season. A number of supercells and hailstorms feature in the footage.

Northeast NSW 2002/03 - set of 2 DVDs - the first collation of storm chasing highlights from the Northern Rivers region. Included is the amazing mothership supercell of 30th March.

All DVDs AU$20 each. Postage $5 for Australian addresses, $10 international.

Please check the archives of storm chases to see what sort of storms are on film since 1998!!

Still to come are the US Tornado Alley 2002 season, and the 2005/2006 season. Stay tuned and check the table above for future updates.
