Low Precipitation Storms and Lightning in the Northern Rivers: Sunday 26th November 2006 by Michael Bath |
Hazy, hot and humid. Some congestus from early afternoon with a storm chase starting about 2pm with Rodney Wallbridge and Greg Spencer (visiting from WA).
Weak cell west of Kyogle before explosive low precipitation cells intercepted just south of Casino about 4.30pm. Hot temperature relieved a bit by thunderstorm inflow winds.
From about 8pm, extensive low precipitation cells moved into the Northern Rivers region from the SSW. CG show for several hours, interrupted briefly by isolated light showers.
Lightning continued all night.
